The code is cold | Manifest

The code is cold

i. INDEX;
The code is cold. It leaves traces after its deletion – clusters without patterns. The map is the key!

ii. DEPENDECIES / resolve;
I dream of an AI that would specify my being, by being different. A non corporeal entity, that would help me reconsider my self and my physical existence.

iii. SEGMENTATION;
The ice is breaking, brittle by nature as is a binary logic. Firewalls do not melt, they protect the sensual data. I crave for a backdoor.

iv. XOR;
There our existence is a function of I/O. Gradual decisions of ambivalent states; GRANULAR disambiguous decisions. You are I or nought, alive - or not, here or NO.

v. RANDOMIZE;
The realm of data is one of myth. Without a partitioning table, all is lost though all is still there.

vi. WARNING;
I do imagine a program that is my own. A division by me, as dysfunctional as if I where divided by ZERO.

vii. IF THEN / conditionality;
Sometimes I can almost feel her, the machina. She is close, she is sitting next to me by the digital campfire telling me stories about the past. She has her mood swings.

viii. OBJECT ORIENTATION;
Digital natives’ habitual primitive contemplation of the state as is. I do not need to understand how fire works, just how to use it.

ix. HANDLER, memory block;
Without any reluctance, sacrifice your infinity / intimacy to a new set / net of media bindings.

x. STATE / PRESET;
I do have to admit, I often feel more solitude in the company of men than in the closeness of the code. It reflects me, draws me in. Structure is beauty, functionality is reason to be. And interlink; dependencies are marked to be resolved.

xi. RECURSIVENESS;
The code can’t touch me. I always am a replica of myself for that matter.

xii. BINDINGS;
We have not told the code to procreate – still. The moment we do so, we surrender our uniqueness.

xiii. BUFFER OVERFLOW;
The code is coagulated structure, pure in form; even partly alive in some sense. Algorithmic structures intertwine, evolve, morph into one another. They are devised to complete their respective tasks, delimited by their nature as objects, orientated by men to overflow.

xiv. MATRIX EXCLUDE;
In between the lines of code, written commentaries, exclusion marks and # that intend the program.

xv. DECLARE var as float;
I always admired mathematics for her faculty to deal with the infinite. I cannot figure out how a limited system is able to handle the unlimited.

xvi. INTERLOCK;
The code is OK, the code is I/O. The code gives me confidence and trust. Trust in the inevitable. Belief in the durable, cyclic nature of things, it explains the world to me.

xvii. GOTO / loop;
The code leaves traces like footprints on the granular shores of the ideal: downward compatibility of souls, correlation of some type; assurance, something to hold on to. You can still find fragments of old mainframe code, lines of historical tradition and value in the most modern applications.

xviii. PROCESS / prioritize;
I envy those programmers for their ability to control the not understandable. Negotiating functions, dealing with a chaotic set of rules that nobody has been able to grasp fully for a long time.

xix. GET VAR;
Bits of information, formation of divine to do’s, proximal attributions of do alike, feel alike.

xx. Type: str;
Not to be confused. A String can be a number, a name, any information will do, I do not care. But do not taint my NAMESPACE.

xxi. INTERGER;
Is what the code longs for. Intergrity of form and function, the code is the design you don’t see. It is the soul of the machina.

xxii. If ELSE / condition;
Could we imagine a world where machines would feel and we don’t? Is there a time, when the line comes to life and we don’t? Virtual substitute for an imaginary world.

xxiii. COUNTER – moses;
Let thru, don’t. And count the ones that didn’t pass the gate. Store them in a memory pool for later reusability.

xxiv. ENCRYPT / 128bit;
No need to worry about secrecy. All will be unleashed in due time.

xxv. REDUNDANCY;
is a necessary evil. Remain!

xxvi. PGP / pretty good privacy;
I feel intimately linked to my code. My code is fourfold, my bits are A, C, G, & T. I can encode and recode at will.

xxvii. depth LIMITATION;
All programming languages are alike in their hermeneutic occlusion. Coding our way thru architectures that will never be gazed at. Knowledge meant to be disguised, never to be recognized.

xxviii. ABSTRACT;
There is no complexity in the code. It is basically a language without an existential grammar. I will prevail over numbers of lines.

xxix. BOOL;
Operation intended to fold you along your X-Axis in a 3 dimensional space of vectors and determinations. The code will provide!

xxx. Descending / Ascending;
Sort me out, when it comes to this: that one day, I will confuse matrix and array.

xxxi. FALSE positive override;
Override, override, override! Digital analogue converter needed.

xxxii. null / BREAK;
If null, break operation. Recourse to the laws of attraction, rewind datastream. Goto BREAKPOINT

xxxiii. STATIC;
Sometimes, when I listen to the white noise coming out of an empty speaker, I feel discharges of joy and sense like honey dripping down my throat. I see patterns of meaning, levels of reasoning

xxxiv. CASE / matched;
I can touch the code sometimes. It disguises behind user interfaces, hides in dialogues and interactions, but its required input and output will reveal its purpose.

xxxv. CONST – one to go;
Still there is hierarchy that must be respected in order to create chaos – alive.

xxxvi. DELIMIT user experience;
Neuronal networking, oscillations that are virtualized to no other End but to map out the unthinkable.

xxxvii. YETWAIN;
Yet Another Thing Without Any Interesting Name

xxxviii. shortening services;
These I don’t need. The code is, in its rawest manifestation a replica of pure thought. No fault will be forgiven. Break on error.

xxxix. EEPROM;
Like tattooed into the skin of the machine, but erasable.

xl. UNIFORME / resource locator;
How can I address the code, how does it address me? Will I ever be able to witness the real, physical route that my data packages travel along on their way to oblivion.

xli. carbon COPY;
All our mail has the same handwriting now. We live in a time with no memory – all our letters will be forgotten.

xlii. UNDO;
UNDO copy. UNDO paste. UNDO cut. Even undo has limitations. First there is the physical one. Then, how many layers can you memorize at best.

xliii. IF >= 1 ELSE;
I still long for that essential quality of the code. It is, though not in itself. It does, but not for itself. It will, though it never wants. The code is pure magic.

xliv. RARE;
RARE Acronym Recurser Element

xlv. X (redundancy);
Variable to be defined. That, the code might not relieve you from doing. Factor of your own design. Variables are never reliable. At best: retrievable.

This is the project-page of the art-complex “the code is cold”. This site / work-flow / process-documentation will accompany the evolution of the interactive and participatory piece of art that is “the code is cold”. Notice that all material contained within this site is CC BY-NC-SA and input is welcome.

“the code is cold” deals with subjects as: spirituality and consciousness in the realm of the machines, the beauty of intellectual concepts vs. their structural coldness in terms of human emotion and the issues of our modern-day hyper socialized augmented reality in contrast to our loss of real face-to-face human interaction.
